Central Florida Commuter Rail

What's There Now - A Look At Planned Station Locations

Maitland Station

Maitland is another community that is poised to take full advantage of the coming of Commuter Rail.  The Mailand Station is located on the west side of Hwy 17-92 or Orlando Avenue between Maitland Boulevard and Sybelia Avenue.  The station will be located at the south end of the Parker Lumber property.

New transit oriented development is planned for the Parker property which has been in continuous operation since the 1930's when Mr. Parker started a sawmill at the location to cut lumber for export to the Caribbean.

A new office building has already been constructed on 17-92 immediately south of the station entrance.

There are offices, retail and service establishments along both sides of 17-92 in the area.  Many are candidates for redevelopment with the advent of Commuter Rail.

The City of Maitland has been building infrastructure and encouraging development along Orlando Avenue according to a master plan implemented in 2003 - The Downtown Maitland Revitalization Plan.  The Commuter Rail Station location is the Sawmill District on the north end of the area subject to the plan.  This plan, which contains some historical information can be viewed by clicking here.
